For instance, in Washington state, to be eligible for Apple Health, you must be a resident of Washington state. In addition, you must be a US citizen or legal resident for 5 years or longer. Furthermore, your income must be at or below 138% of the Federal Poverty level. However, citizenship status is not a factor for children (18 & under) to be eligible for Apple Health.
Eligibility for Medicaid is determined at the state level. For example, in North Carolina, to be eligible for Medicaid, a person must be a U.S. citizen or have an eligible immigration status. Additionally, they must live in North Carolina and have a Social Security number or show they have applied, if eligible for one.
In Massachusetts, you must be a resident of Massachusetts to get MassHealth or other health care benefits that are funded by the Commonwealth.
